Cavendish Gets The Stage Win-Stage 3

Cavendish Wins StageMark Cavendish takes the stage win on the third stage of the tour of Britian.Cavendish cruised home to a fairly comfortable win in Dumfries. Guided in by Sky teammates Luke Rowe and Bradly Wiggens, Cavendish made sure of the win after slipping up in the previous two stages. Rowe looked good in today’s stage,  taking the lead with about 1.5km to go, and then sticking to the team plan until Cavendish got slipped through to the head of the group. After Cavendish was safely through, Rowe pushed on himself to take fourth place in the stage and fourth overall in the GC.

Luke Rowe certainly looks like one to look out for in the future, and could be a dark horse for the overall win. Australian Leigh Howard leads the tour with Mark Cavendish second, on the same points, Boy Van Poppel lies in third place, with Rowe taking the fourth spot. Cavendish and team Sky are still in talks, about Cavs future in the sky team, but it looks like some sort of agreement is imminent.

Tomorrow sees stage 4 in the tour, and another good day from Cavendish could see him take the yellow jersey, “although i think hes quite happy with the world championship jersey right now. His year as world champion comes to an end in eleven days, so hes happy to make the most of it. Tomorrow we see stage 4 from Carlisle to Blackpool, the tour starts in Carlisle, then heads for the lake district. With the first mountain stage of the day at Shap Fell, then we see a fast descent to Kendal. The finish is under the Blackpool tower, where we are likely to see an exciting  bunch finish with a sprint to the line.
