The Kona Honzo is another of Kona’s very large 2012 mountain bike collection, and this is another of the 29er’s, which are some of the most popular bikes that they sell. Experts in the field of mountain biking, Kona have created another gem with the Kona Honzo frame which is made from ‘Kona Clump Cromoly Butted’, which is basically a very traditional cycling material and is a form of steel.
Most people have stopped using steel for their bicycle, mainly in the road bike community, but steel bikes are still produced and sold all over the world. It allows the manufacturers to equip their bikes with some of the best components around and still keep the price down. The stiffness and durability of a steel bike is also still superior to many of the other materials including modern ones which are now used on top performing bikes.
The weight of the Kona Honzo is a big issue though, and if you need a piece of equipment that will allow you to beat the competition, or even just perform at the best you ever had, then the Kona Honzo probably is not for you.
