Maxxis Larsen – Maxxis Larsen TT Weight

The Maxxis Larsen TT tyre has a number of different versions that are all useful to different riders in different circumstances. The Maxxis Larsen are all XC mountain bike tyres at 26”, which I’m sure you already know, but this is a very important aspect. If you have a 29er mountain bike, you need to be sure that you purchase 29” tyres as these are the only ones that will fit your wheel.
Maxxis have used a number of different technologies in creating the Maxxis Larsen, for example, LUST, which adds a special fabric layer to the sidewall which is then covered in a top class rubber compound. This gives the tyre better puncture resistance and a few other key advantages including; lower weight and even increased air retention.
The Maxxis Larsen also has another two added technologies that increase the tyres resistance to puncture. These are known by the company as – silkworm technology and ‘EXC’. Clearly they don’t want to give to much away to their competitors about how they make and improve their tyres year on year, however, you can find out the basics of all the technologies by clicking below. The Maxxis Larsen TT weight can vary between different editions, but, the main tyre in their range weighs 674 grams.
