Tour Of Britian Stage 2
Aussie rider Liegh Howard gets the stage 2 win, Howard riding for Orica-Greenedge got the victory by a couple of yards, just piping Mark Cavandish on the line. Team Sky did a lot of the work at the front of the peloton, lining for the sprint finish. Both Bradley Wiggens and Luke Rowe,” yesterdays stage winner”, where instrumental in lining Mark Cavandish up for the sprint finish. But somehow Cavandish lost his way with 600m to go, and was just piped at the post by Howard.
Today we see a few steep climbs as the tour makes its way through the peak district area. An early breakaway group saw there lead stretched to three mins, but where eventually caught by the peloton. Most of this good work was done by Endura and Team Sky. The tour of Britian continues tomorrow with a stage starting from Jedburg and finishing in Dumfries.
Cavandish will try again tomorrow to get the stage win, after coming close in the previous two stages. Tomorrow the tour enters the Scottish borders, giving us some dramatic scenery along the way. The stage finishes up in Dumfries
